Check out these hard trophy lists in the PS Store Spring Sale

Our selection of hard games will all have varying degrees of difficulty, and they may not be the most difficult platinums around — but each should still provide a healthy challenge. Check out the hardest games we've picked below and we hope you've been able to avoid those unobtainable platinum trophies in the Essential Picks PS Store sale. You can also check out our list of easy trophies in the latest sale as well.

Insurgency Sandstorm

Insurgency Sandstorm is a team-based, tactical FPS based on lethal close-quarters combat and objective-oriented multiplayer gameplay. You'll work with your close confidants to overcome many different trials and hopefully come out as the victors at the end of it. So, yes, the entire game is online-only.

To earn the platinum trophy 'Insurgency Sandstorm' you'll be taking out enemies in a variety of different ways, getting wins in the various game modes, purchasing a bounty of cosmetic items, and a variety of other similar fashioned tasks. The difficulty for this one comes from the RNG of it all and if luck is on your side with the opponents you face off against. Currently, the platinum sits with an overall completion rate of 0.20% on PSN — a solid indicator of the difficulty for those who wish to earn it.

Sonic Superstars

The story of Sonic Superstars takes place on the Northstar Islands, an uncharted, wondrous archipelago known for its giant fauna and wonderous wildlife. However, as is to be expected, the notorious Dr. Eggman has come to these islands to wreak havoc and be a general menace to society. Eggman plans to turn the massive animals who live on the Northstar Islands into Badniks and steal the Chaos Emeralds to conquer the world.

Surprisingly, the trophies for Sonic Superstars are deviously difficult and are going to take quite a bit of effort to work through. Trophies like 'Victory Fanfare' (defeat the true boss), 'Gold Enemy Hunter' (defeat every gold enemy throughout every stage), and 'All in a Day's Work' (defeat 1000 enemies) all appear to be the trophies causing the most problems for players. Currently, the platinum trophy 'Emerald Expert' has an overall completion rate of 0.40% on PSN.

Ultros

  • Here are the Ultros trophies
  • Length: 30-40 hours
  • Difficulty: 7/10
  • Missables: 18 (est)
In Ultros, you'll take control of a space traveler who wakes up on a spaceship called the Sarcophagus, which imprisons a powerful demon named Ultros. It's your task to prevent Ultros from waking — if it wakes, then the universe as we know it will be in great danger. However, the ship has become overgrown with plant life, and various aliens now live aboard the Sarcophagus. You're going to have to fight your way through them in order to prevent Ultros from waking from his slumber.

Ultros is filled with all kinds of tough trophies to crack. So, you best be ready for a grueling challenge as you work your way towards the platinum 'Reality is not a matter of truth, but imagination.' Aside from being a difficult venture in itself, Ultros also has a number of missable trophies to worry about, most of which appear to relate to the game's two different possible endings. Currently, the platinum trophy sits with an overall completion rate of 0.40% on PSN.

That's all the difficult trophy lists we have for you today. Are there any here you'll be tempted to play? If you're looking for more hard platinum trophies, make sure to check out our list of the hardest platinum trophies on PS Plus. Let us know all your thoughts in the comments below!
