Those Ghost of Yotei trophies have just been announced and we're already pumped to start collecting them! While you might have expected the follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima to be called Ghost of Tsushima 2, instead Ghost of Yotei for PS5 has been revealed! It's one of the most exciting upcoming PS5 games we know about, and we have a release date window!

Sucker Punch's Ghost of Yotei will launch in 2025

Revealed at the State of Play September 2024 showcase, Sucker Punch Productions' Ghost of Yotei will launch in 2025 and act as the proper follow-up to 2020's Ghost of Tsushima. Check out the PS5 game's reveal trailer below.
According to the PlayStation Blog, Ghost of Yokei will take place in 1603 — more than 300 years after Jin Sakai's story in Ghost of Tsushima — and will swap of the island of Tsushima for the lands around Mount Yotei (that's in the northern island of Hokkaido, for you Japan fans). The game will also star new female protagonist Atsu, who seems to be something of an outlaw.

Details are still scant but the game looks absolutely gorgeous, apparently having been designed from the ground up for PS5. Ghost of Yotei will also feature "new mechanics, gameplay improvements, and even new weapons." All-in-all, it sounds like the PS5 follow-up we've been desperately waiting for!
