Those Final Fantasy VII Rebirth trophies aren't the only FFVII-themed digital trinkets you should be collecting this week. You've also got the chance to claim this wonderful Buster Sword-shaped Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PlayStation Stars collectible just by playing the game on PS5. You'll need to venture into your PS App's PlayStation Stars campaigns section to do so, but it's probably worth the effort.

How to claim the Buster Sword collectible in PS Stars

Cloud Strife's Buster Sword collectible is available to claim in the PS App until Thursday, May 30, 2024, and it's remarkably easy to do so. The only requirement for PS Stars subscribers is that they own a copy of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and a PS5 to play it on.

Buster Sword 2What the campaign looks like.

First things first — you'll want to go into the PS App and find the campaign "Final Fantasy VII Rebirth arrives" in the PlayStation Stars section. From there, either hit 'Start' on the campaign feed or in the campaign itself to activate it. Then, all you need to do is boot up a copy of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PS5 before the deadline and this Buster Sword collectible is yours for the keeping.

While PlayStation Stars' future and whether it'll ever become a core piece of the PlayStation experience remains a lingering question about the service, it's still worth hedging your bets by claiming this Buster Sword collectible anyway. Put it this way — if PS Stars collectibles someday become as fun to compare and unlock as PlayStation trophies, you don't want to be the only one who was too proud to claim Cloud's Buster Sword for your collection, do ya?
