Those Baldur's Gate 3 trophies are about to be even more fun to earn thanks to a new update from Larian Studios. The Baldur's Gate 3 patch for October 2024 brings a host of new features, but most importantly, it brings the long-awaited Mod Manager to the game. Now, that's one hell of a good reason to jump into one of the best PS5 games around.

Baldur's Gate 3 patch brings Mod Manager and 13 evil endings to PS5

While there is a lot to see in the latest patch for Baldur's Gate 3, it's the Mod Manager that is the real standout. This new feature allows you to change up a variety of aspects of the game and will only be expanded on as time passes.
The mods that are currently available allow for an abundance of opportunities for you to change the world of Baldur's Gate 3 and allow your wildest dreams to run free. The Mod Manager allows you to access brand-new races that come with new skills and approaches to combat that are sure to liven up your playthroughs.

However, the most interesting one in my opinion is the ability to increase your party size to a whopping 16 members. Yep, that means you to take up to 16 different companions with you out in the world, slaying your enemies left, right, and center. No longer must you choose between your favorites, all of them can follow you into battle.

There is also an abundance of clothing mods that grant you a variety of awesome passive skills, mods that allow you to change the appearance of companions and NPCs, mods that change how your dice look, and so many more awesome mods like that. You really just need to dive in and explore all the options that are available to you.

Now, while all of this sounds incredible (which it is) using any mods whatsoever will automatically disable trophies, stopping you from earning that sweet, sweet platinum trophy. So, if you're an avid trophy hunter like me, it's recommended you work through the trophy list first, before you start jumping into all of these mods.
While the Mod Manager is incredible, let's not overlook some of the other cool content we can witness in this new patch. Those of us who love a variety of choices and solid narratives can now access 13 new cinematic evil endings including unique ones for each of the origin characters. These new endings might not fill us with sunshine and rainbows, but it's awesome to see content like this being added to the game!

Larian has also revamped how the split screen works for couch co-op gameplay, with the two separate screens merging together when both player characters are in close proximity to one another. While this may be a small feature, it is one that I will definitely be taking advantage of when I play with my partner.

There has also been an insane amount of bug fixes and small tweaks to gameplay here and there. It's pretty amazing how much effort Larian Studios puts into these patches and I appreciate it so much.

What do you make of all of these new features? Will you be checking out the Mod Manager? Is Baldur's Gate 3 one of the best PS5 RPG games ever? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
