The Fall Part 2: Unbound Revealed

By Kelly Packard,
It was announced from the get-go that The Fall would be the first part of a trilogy. The little title that utilized traits from the adventure, side-scrolling and Metroidvania genres was released in 2014 on PC and 2015 on Playstation 4. Despite positive reception from critics and fans alike, developer Over the Moon Games was radio silent on parts two and three until this week when they finally revealed The Fall Part 2: Unbound.

The Fall Part 2: Unbound (2)

According to Over the Moon, Unbound picks up right where we left the combat suit AI ARID. John Warner, director of Over the Moon Games, said that the narrative will once again focus on ARID's journey of self-discovery. In the first game, she was desperately trying to save the life of the human contained in her combat suit. In the second game (you might not want to read ahead if you've yet to complete the first), ARID's world changes completely when she is ejected from her suit and projected onto a global network. ARID meets several robots along the way and tries to get them to help her. If she is successful or not remains to be seen. "We want The Fall Part 2: Unbound to deliver a thought-provoking story that will linger with players long after they finish the game, with gameplay that’s as fitting with that story as it is addictive," said Warner.

The first screenshots of the successor already give off the same feel as the first installment.

In honor of Unbound's announcement, part one of The Fall can also be purchased at an insane 85% off for a limited time.

The Fall Part 2: Unbound will be releasing on an undisclosed date in Q1 2017.
