Star Trek: Bridge Crew Levar Burton Interview

By MunchMagic1986,
It is one thing to see footage from the game, or hear about it from the people who make the game, or even from others who have played it; but what about someone who has actually been in that world? That is what happened when Ubisoft caught up with former Star Trek actor Levar Burton, who famously played Geordi La Forge on Star Trek: The Next Generation, to hear thoughts after trying out Star Trek Bridge Crew. Given that his character wore a visor throughout the show, it is fitting that he does the comparison.

The biggest difference, he said, was that when he was on set for the show, a lot of the things you saw on TV were added in after filming, whereas with Bridge Crew, everything is all there as soon as you put on the headset. He goes on to talk about how great it is to be able to experience being on the bridge with your friends and how it captures everything that Star Trek means to him. It did take him a little bit of adjusting to being the Captain, as he played Lt. Commander on the show, but he got the hang of it pretty quickly and even slid back into character as he played.

Hopefully now Levar has a taste of VR, he gets the idea of making a Reading Rainbow VR title. Would you buy a game where Levar just sits and reads you stories?

Star Trek: Bridge Crew will release this Fall on PlaystationVR.
