Short Peace Launches a Trailer

By Rebecca Smith,
Short Peace is four parts anime, one part game. The disc first contains four short films that aim to reflect life in Japan during a different time period. Shuhei Morita's Oscar-nominated Possessions follows a man forced to take shelter from a storm, who finds himself in a shrine surrounded by objects that are possessed by ghosts. In Katsuhiro Otomo's Combustible, a massive fire shapes a love story that is set in the Edo period. A Farewell to Weapons by Hajime Katoki features a near-future battle in the ruins of Tokyo. Finally, Hiroaki Ando's Gambo features a legendary battle between an oni goblin and a white bear.

Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day (EU) is considered to be the playable fifth part of Short Peace. The 2D side-scrolling action title is also shorter than normal to fit with the short-film theme of the disc. A launch trailer appeared for the compilation today. Take a look:
