We've known that it was coming since CES earlier this year but Borderlands 2 (Vita) and the Vita Bundle being released alongside it have both been given a release date for this May! Alongside this announcement, a nifty trailer has been released with some good tunes, gameplay, and information about what to expect in the box.
Both the standalone version of the game and the bundle will come with six DLC packs but not the Head Hunter packs. For those who have trouble remembering such a wordy list, these DLC packs are "Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty", "Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage", the Psycho and Mechromancer character classes, as well as the "Ultimate Vault Hunter’s Upgrade Pack" and the "Collector’s Edition pack". This means it will include all six classes and a whole ton of additional content to play with the core game.
While they haven't even so much as hinted at the possibility of Cross-Buy, if you do already have the original PS3 version of the game then you'll be able to boot up as your favorite characters thanks to Cross-Save functionality.
Borderlands hasn't hurt your wallet enough, you say? Well for those North American gamers looking for even more loot, you can pick up a PS Vita Bundle featuring the game and one of the new PS Vita Slims for the low, low price of $199.99. Aside from a copy of the game, the Vita itself comes with 1GB of internal memory, an 8GB Vita memory card and is Wi-Fi enabled. Unfortunately, there's no official word of a similar bundle making its way across the Pond.
In North America, the Vita bundle will be released on May 6th, slightly ahead of the retail and digital release of the game on May 13th. While the digital version has yet to be priced, Amazon is listing the physical version of the game at around $39.99.
