Mighty No. 9 Delayed Again

By Marc Caccamise,
Just over two weeks before it was set to release on February 9th, Mighty No. 9 Trophies has been delayed for a third time. The Kickstarted project was originally supposed to release in April 2015, before being delayed to September 15th, 2015, when it was then delayed until 2016 into its February release date.

The delay is mostly due to issues with networking and matchmaking across the multiple supported platforms. Mighty No. 9's creator Keiji Inafune explained the delay in a post on game's Kickstarter page:

The reason for the delay is rooted in bugs inside the network modes, and specifically problems with matchmaking. There are two large reasons for this problem, one of them being the large number of platforms supported (the solution for each platform is slightly different) and the other stems from the fact that the engine we are using is no longer being updated which means adjustments for matchmaking and online code are being made manually (actually reprogramming parts of the engine by the dev team themselves). Unfortunately, this is all a result of miscalculations on the part of us, the development staff.
Mighty No. 9 is now expected to release sometime in Spring 2016 although the developer is waiting to specify a release date until the game is confirmed to be ready.
