Amplitude FreQ Mode Announced

By Ellis Spice,
Following on from the announcement of the full soundtrack and release date for Harmonix's 're-imagining' of the Playstation 2 rhythm title Amplitude, the developers have today unveiled a new mode for the game: 'FreQ Mode'.

Whilst Amplitude flattened out the tracks with the intention of better track recognition and to show off more of the world, its predecessor FreQuency featured tracks that continuously wrapped around inside a tunnel. Opinion was divided on which of the two track styles was superior, however, with this divide continuing within the Harmonix ranks to this day, 12 years on. As a result, they've taken the decision to add the option of playing either way, letting players decide which mode is more fun.

Alongside this announcement, Harmonix has released some screenshots of FreQ Mode in action:

Amplitude is set to ride its way onto the Playstation 4, on both a flat road and in a tunnel, on January 5th, 2016.

We've got the full list of Amplitude trophies - check the list for guides to unlocking them.
