PES 2014 World Challenge DLC Detailed

By Ashley Woodcock,
Game developer Konami has revealed new details, including screenshots, on DLC and a small game patch that will be releasing very soon for their sports title Pro Evolution Soccer 2014. Ready your favourite team and send them screaming onto the soccer pitch as they try to win the newly featured International Cup in the upcoming "World Challenge" DLC.

PES 2014 DLC 01

The mode charges the user with guiding their international team or player to glory in the International Cup competition. In ‘Team’ mode, the user governs every aspect of play, from team selection, to choosing offensive and defensive tactics. While ‘Player’ mode sees the player striving to earn selection and retain their place via their performances in a game.
Starting from the qualifying rounds, all the way through to the main tournament, the "World Challenge" offers an authentic and new and improved experience throughout. Players can prepare for qualifying rounds and the knockout tournaments almost like they would in real-life. Change and adjust your squad leading up to qualification to have your team playing the way you want, observe and potentially recruit new talent in friendly matches, and then take part in the grouping and knock out stages of the tournament. Here's a screenshot of the group stage menu:

The DLC will also feature "new presentation and front-end elements". The new improvements will mean players can check out plenty of details on their squad all the way down to the smallest factors of the team. Thanks to new AI elements, if a player has a great game, they will continue to strive and be successful moving forward. Should a player be struggling and playing poorly, their confidence levels will suffer and they will continue to play at a low level. Once you've decided on your final squad, battled your way through the regional qualification round and hopefully qualify for the International Cup, you can enjoy the newly added cutscenes within the DLC that will present your final and winning squad selection. Releasing alongside the new mode, a free DLC pack and a patch for PES 2014 has also been detailed:

It will update 9 International team kits such as Italy, Portugal and Greece, as well as implementing new boots from Nike, Adidas, Puma and Umbro. Also included are over 60 player face updates and additions, with lifelike representations of England’s Jack Wilshere, Spain’s David Silva and Gerard Pique, and Germany’s Mario Götze and Marco Reus. The new adidas Brazuca ball will added. The patch will improve gameplay for a smoother experience, while bringing in new cheating measures for online play, as well as the ability to select the World Challenge mode.
PES 2014 DLC 3

The "World Challenge" DLC will release this Wednesday, March 26th, priced at £7.99 / €9.99. The additional free DLC pack and game patch is due to arrive on the same day.
