Trophy Spotlight: Fallout 4

By MunchMagic1986,
It is almost that time. You have waited years for this moment and next week Fallout 4 Trophies will be available for you to play until your hearts are content. One of the things you will likely be doing is going for the juicy Platinum trophy. To do that you will first need to travel the Wastelands and conquer the game's other 50 trophies before you can get that. So let's have a look at them shall we?

If you want to just play through the game without concern then you will end up with nearly half of the game's trophies anyway. There are a lot of story-related trophies.

Joining different groups and settlements is given a significant showing here, along with the returning companions. In the case of settlements and companions, there are happiness and friendship meters that you can fill to improve your bond with the people of the game.

One of the "new" additions to the game is the crafting system. Okay, so this is not technically new, but in terms of how massive it is compared to last time it really should be called new. There are a couple of trophies that are focused on these, along with the weapon mods and the workshop.

The trophies for levelling up are a lot more simplified this time around, especially compared to Fallout 3's moral based level trophies. There are four trophies for reaching certain levels - 5, 10, 25 and 50 - which it seems will be the level cap.

Here are the miscellaneous trophies and there are not as many for which you might be hoping. There are only four here that don't really fall into any other "groups". One is a returning favourite, the ol' drop a grenade in someone's trousers while robbing them blind. The other three tease a little bit of the fun that can be found in the Wasteland — playing video games, Baseball and American Football.

The remaining trophies are ones that you will be working towards as you scour the land until the wee hours of the night. There are a lot of cumulative ones as you were probably expecting, ranging from killing X type of enemies to picking locks and reading magazines (quick reminder that these also boost some of your stats).

Overall it is a fairly balanced list — the type of list that you would expect to find in this type of game. Looking back at the list for Fallout 3 though, it is almost identical. The level ones have been trimmed down a bit and the extra space has been filled by some of the newer game features, such as the workshop and crafting. Comparing the two, it is slightly disappointing at how similar they are; perhaps some of the many story ones could have been dropped in favour of more of the game's features. Completing all of the trophies in Fallout 3 was enjoyable though, so it is good that they are similar in that sense. Besides, once we get the Platinum we are just going to make our own trophies to achieve, right?

On that note, what do you think of the trophies? Do you wish that they had changed it a little from Fallout 3? Are you glad that they are similar? To finish things off, we want to know that if you were on the Trophy Creation team at Bethesda (best job ever by the way), what trophy would you make for the game?
