Ubisoft has released some new trailers to get the people pumped for their upcoming sequel, Assassin's Creed Syndicate Trophies. First off we have one of their most ambitious and breathtaking filming projects yet: strapping a camera to the back of a bald-headed eagle and letting it fly around the city of London. Sidney, the star of this production, had a 4K (1080p x 4) camera attached to his back to film his view of some of the most iconic paths.
This wasn't just done for fun, though; it was also done to help Ubisoft craft a unique experience for Syndicate to see the city through the eyes of an eagle to point out enemies, landmarks and other points of interest in a highly-detailed 1868 Victorian London. Key locations from which Sidney was launched included the Walkie Talkie, Sky Garden, The Heron Tower, Trafalgar Square, City Hall, and The Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.
Chris O'Donnell, the owner of 29-year-old Sidney and a Falconry Expert, went on to say:
An Eagle has never been flown to this extent in an urban environment, so this was a very exciting project to be involved in. Sidney is a Bald Eagle who is used to large crowds of people and was highly adaptable to a busy city environment. We developed a bespoke harness and fitting for the camera and spent months testing it for comfort and stability. We had good flying conditions, incredible launch points and the footage we captured was utterly remarkable.
After this, Ubisoft continues the roll call for the games that were innovative throughout the series and, this time, we are reminded of what was great and new from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Trophies with this Evolution of the High Seas trailer.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate will be released for the Playstation 4 on October 23rd, 2015.
