Afro Samurai 2 Releases a New Music Video

By Ashley Woodcock,
One of the key factors that made Afro Samurai such a unique and memorable experience was the music behind the title. In the upcoming Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma Volume 1 Trophies, the original soundtrack will be handled by up-and-coming indie hip-hop artists that have been under the wing and mentored by the one and only RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan.

Serving as a sample of the music to come, a new video called 'Deadly Identities' has been released by indie hip-hop artist Visual Eyes. The artist was first discovered by Redacted Studios founder and Lead Producer David Robinson at a store working as a checkout clerk. After listening to Visual Eyez's mixtape, David approached him about making the original soundtrack for the game alongside a couple of indie artists, Nay Steez and TK. This will all be under the guidance of RZA, the musical director behind the Afro Samurai franchise since the original animated series and the first title that was released.

There's also a chance for more indie artists to work with Versus Evil, as the publishers have announced a contest for up-and-coming hip-hop artists to create their own original content inspired by Afro Samurai. Those who submit tracks and manage to win the contest will have their song included in the official soundtrack for Volume 3. Check out details of the contest right here.

Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma, Volume 1 has received a release date on PlayStation 4 of September 22nd.

Hounding news for TrueTrophies ever since the site first launched. Lover of completions, tough achievements, shooters, action, adventure and racing titles, hip-hop, NBA, and my Scooby. I own an Xbox One and Xbox 360. If I ever get my gaming room back, and a whopping amount of constant free time to go with it, I may get a PlayStation console too.
