Burial at Sea - Episode Two 1998 Mode Announced

In BioShock Infinite (PS3), the hardest mode available to players was the "1999 Mode", a throwback to games of that era. Today, Irrational Games has announced a similar throw-back mode for the second episode of the "Burial at Sea" DLC, entitled "1998 Mode".

1998 Mode

This new mode challenges players to complete the narrative using only non-lethal methods, making stealthy play key. "1998 Mode" will work as an addition to all of the already existing difficulty modes, so you can play "1998 Mode" and "1999 Mode" at the same time, if you wish.

Ken Levine, creative director of Irrational Games, had this to say of the new mode:

In Burial at Sea – Episode Two we put a focus on balance and stealth mechanics. As we were developing this new style of gameplay, we started to see people self-impose non-lethal playthroughs. Given the fan reception of 1999 Mode, we thought it would be cool to give them another way to play Burial at Sea that challenged their mastery of stealth tools.
"Burial at Sea - Episode Two" is set to release on March 25th for $14.99. Alternatively, players can purchase the Season Pass for the game, which features both episodes of 'Burial at Sea" and the "Clash in the Clouds" DLC, for $19.99.
