Dungeon of Naheulbeuk Crawls Out of the Underworld

Dungeon of Naheulbeuk, a new RPG title, has been announced by developers Artefacts Studios.

Beginning life in 2001 as a series of French audio adventures, the franchise has since branched out into comics, board games and an upcoming animated TV series.

Poking fun at the archetypal characters, story-lines and other tropes of the genre, this RPG sees the seven heroes of the series joined by a new eighth character. The imaginatively named Barbarian, Dwarf, Elf and the other companions are in search of a magical statuette when they get stuck in a time loop that sees them back at the beginning of the dungeon right at the point of their death. As they progress to their goal again, occasional lingering memories of their previous run-through remind them of certain doom. Sounds very meta.

Dungeon of Naheulbeuk doesn't have a release date yet.
