Broken Sword 5 Heading to Consoles

By Lexley Ford,
Point-and-click adventure fans rejoice; soon you’ll once again be able to step into the shoes of George Stobbart and Nico Collard as Revolution Software has announced that an enhanced version of the latest title in the Broken Sword series, Broken Sword 5 – The Serpent's Curse, will be heading to new-gen consoles this year. Revolution's latest adventure sees George and Nico return to their 2D roots as they follow the trail of a stolen painting with connections to a much larger conspiracy.

Founder and CEO of Revolution Software, Charles Cecil, said:

We are delighted to bring Broken Sword 5 to PS4 and Xbox One – with enhancements over the other versions including additional animation and audio, a character gallery section and many console-specific enhancements. The Broken Sword games have a proud history on previous PlayStation and Xbox consoles. There is such a loyal following for the Broken Sword games, as demonstrated by the 15,000 fans who backed the original Kickstarter campaign – it’s fantastic to now be able to bring the game to all those console owners who have requested that we write the game for their favourite platform.
A digital version of the title will be available worldwide through the Playstation Store. A retail version, which will include the game’s introduction as a graphic novel, will be available throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia, though there are no details on whether or not this version will appear in other regions.
