A month ago, indie developer Enlightened Games launched a crowdsourcing campaign to fund the first chapter of their newest project, The Song of Seven. Asking for a humble $8000 to finish off their project, the campaign was successfully funded through Kickstarter, with the deadline arriving today.
The first of an expected seven chapters, The Song of Seven is a third person adventure game that plays homage to the old point-and-click adventures we all love. We play as Kiba, a young man just starting his adventure into adulthood by finding is way through The Pilgrim’s Path. Harking back to the days of classic adventure games and inventory puzzles, The Song of Seven is sure to find itself a ready and waiting fan base.
Explaining the game and the episodic approach, the developers said:
Each chapter is meant to be the video game version of a short story, a quick, enjoyable digital romp that can be played in a dedicated day or a lazy weekend. When taken together, the chapters assemble a narrative that roams across a world of distinct cultures and intriguing lore with a story that can be enjoyed and appreciated by all ages.
Currently, there is no official release date for The Song of Seven, but it is expected to release on digital download in February 2016.
