Taking place ten years after the beginning of Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk and six years after Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky, Gust's Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is the third and final part of the Dusk subseries of Atelier titles. Publisher KOEI Tecmo has confirmed that the title will be arriving to end the saga in North America and Europe in March.

While their personalities and appearance are drastically different, they both share the nickname “Shallie” and uncover the reasoning why along each of their journeys
Not only will the girls have their own individual stories, there will also be multiple endings. Gust has made several improvements to the title, such as the new Quest system where players can choose to perform only the actions needed to further their progress, or choose to take on side quests to earn more points. There will also be a 360 degree camera to allow for players to have more freedom.
