Free Assassin's Creed games will light up your PS5 gaming this weekend A 'free' Assassin's Creed weekend will bring you access to five different games on PS5 and PS4 this weekend, including some of the best in Ubisoft's series.Kes Eylers-Stephenson Published 10 Aug 2023 FollowtopicsPlayStation 4PlayStation 5Kes Eylers-Stephenson Some of the best Assassin's Creed games will be available from Friday, August 10, 2023, until Monday, August 14, 2023, on PS5 and PS4's store. That's right, Ubisoft is doing a 'free' Assassin's Creed weekend with five games participating ahead of one of the upcoming Assassin's Creed games, AC Mirage. Temper your expectations, however...Five Assassin's Creed games are 'free' for a limited timeUbisoft is opening the floor for you to enjoy five Assassin's Creed games on PS5 and PS4 this weekend, though not in the case of four of the games (yes, we know, very silly). Ubisoft's event runs for the course of the weekend, from 2pm EST/11am PST/7pm GMT on Friday, August 10, 2023, until 8am EST/5am PST/3pm GMT on Monday, August 14, 2023. The game list of 'free' games includes Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed Revelations via The Ezio Collection on PS4, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla on PS5 and PS4.The way Ubisoft is presenting this is a little sly, though. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is the only one accessible without a PS Plus Extra subscription and can be preloaded from the store now. As we noted in our Assassin's Creed Valhalla review, it's an absurdly long game so maybe don't try to cram that in over a weekend. Bizarrely, Ubisoft is stating that the rest of the games in this 'free' weekend are the versions available through PS Plus Extra, as they have been for a while, as part of the Ubisoft Classics catalog. In short, if you have a PS Plus subscription this is pretty much as you were and it feels like a bit of a cop-out — can't everyone have them for a weekend, Ubisoft? Or just say what it is at least — an Assassin's Creed Valhalla free weekend on PlayStation. On Xbox, players are getting the five games with only an Xbox Live Gold (PS Plus Essential equivalent) subscription requirement. If you are looking for them on a permanent basis and don't have PS Plus, all of the games are on sale for up to 85% off in the Summer Sale. None of the DLC is included in the trial. If you are looking for trophies, here are all five free Assassin's Creed games and how long and hard the trophy lists are to platinum:Free Assassin's Creed weekend trophy list round-upGame + TrophiesTime to platinumDifficultyAssassin's Creed II trophies25+ hoursAssassin's Creed Brotherhood trophies25+ hoursAssassin's Creed Revelations trophies25+ hoursAssassins's Creed 4 Black Flag trophies35+ hoursAssassin's Creed Valhalla trophies100+ hoursSo, a little strange with the PS Plus Extra requirement, but we're sure that Assassin's Creed Valhalla and the steep discounts might help somewhat! In any case, it's a good chance to play the mainline games while we patiently wait for a Assassin's Creed PS5 remake! What do you think of the sale?
