Thanks to the Take-Two financials, we are getting a clearer idea of that GTA 6 release window. If you have fiendishly collected all those Grand Theft Auto V trophies, take note of late 2024 and 2025 because it really does look like one of the best PS5 games will be released then!

Grand Theft Auto 6 seemingly eyes release date late next year

With Take-Two Interactive Software giving its financial reports, naturally Stephen Totilo and VentureBeat have gone digging for the giant on the horizon: GTA 6. The former noted that Take-Two said: "We still expect to deliver $8 billion in Net Bookings... next year." This year has Take-Two delivered $5.5 billion in Net Bookings, meaning that from April 2024 to March 2025 Take-Two is expecting to add $2.5 Net Bookings — a jump that massive can pretty much only be powered by GTA 6.
If you needed further confirmation, CEO Strauss Zelnick stated: "We remain confident that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025, which we believe will include new record levels of operating performance." He goes on to remark that it will be an "exciting next chapter." In other words, massive growth is coming over the next year from somewhere, likely a big AAA launch like GTA 6.

Going by financial years, that leaves us with a potential GTA 6 release window of April 2024 to March 2025. We have already had leaks about GTA 6's new location and characters that showcased a fictional Miami and Florida state setting and two playable protagonists. One was a Latina woman and the other a white male, so it's shaping up to have the split perspectives that GTA 5 handled well.
Well, I can't lie: Rockstar Games pretty much have my undying love after Red Dead Redemption 2. My calendar will be marked for next year and early 2025 and I'll make sure to clear a week out for it! That being said, the fact that Dan Houser is no longer with the developer as a writer does have me concerned, though Sam Houser is still president. Dan Houser's writing had long been the lifeblood of the studio.
