Well, come November 2023 we'll surely be grabbing those Banishers Ghosts of New Eden trophies! As the follow-up to developer Don't Nod's ultra-successful Life is Strange series, the new Banishers Ghosts of New Eden release date has a lot to live up to, especially amongst a slew of upcoming PS5 and PS4 games.

When does Banishers Ghosts of New Eden launch on PS5?

Don't Nod has officially announced that the Banishers Ghosts of New Eden release date is set for Tuesday, November 7, 2023, on PS5. Published by Focus Entertainment, the title features two lovers who are ghost hunters. They have "vowed to protect the living from the threat of lingering ghosts and specters," something you can hear protagonists Antea Duarte and Red Mac Raith monologue about in the trailer below.
Mac is the fighter here while it looks like Antea, now banished to the loathed spirit realm, will have mystical spirit powers to help Mac bring her back to life. When I saw the trailer of the game running at The Game Awards, I was very impressed, indeed. I find myself a sucker for any medieval fantasy game with a more serious tone. Here, the tones are dulcet Scottish too, which can only help the game succeed in my view.

Plus, Don't Nod's previous efforts have been pretty good. Life Is Strange's first season was brilliant and one of my favorites, although Season Two and LiS True Colors struggled to strike me in quite the same way. This looks totally detached from that world, so I'm really hoping Don't Nod can find its feet again and use some of its magical interactive narrative skills to create something to get its hooks in me for a few hours.

Does this have the minerals to become one of the best PS5 games? We sure hope so! It arrives in a busy season full of prime games, though. Let us know if you think it'll succeed in the comments below!
