Those of you on PS Plus Premium can now get a feel for The Callisto Protocol trophies as well as an overall vibe of the game itself. The Callisto Protocol PS Plus Trial will allow you access to the game for an entire hour on both PS5 and PS4. Make sure to check out our PS Plus Trials guide for more games that you can test out on the service.

The Callisto Protocol gets a PS Plus Premium Trial

The Callisto Protocol's trial can be accessed by anybody with a PS Plus Premium subscription and is available on both PS5 and PS4. To enable the trial, you go to the PS Plus tab on your PS5, then to trials, and download the game. Please be aware that The Callisto Protocol is just shy of 80GBs and will take a substantial amount of time to download if you don't have the best internet available. If you are unable to complete the full one-hour trial in one sitting, you can exit the game to pause the countdown — do this rather than pausing in-game.
The Callisto Protocol is a third-person survival horror game and sees you playing as Jacob Lee, an inmate battling against the many horrors that are lurking within Black Iron Prison. The game is tense and the feeling of dread will seep into your soul whenever you turn a corner, waiting for something to take a bite out of you. The Callisto Protocol is also notoriously gory, with some truly grotesque death animations for you to uncover — so, we hope you have a strong stomach.

The Callisto Protocol trophies aren't the simplest to work through and require you to keep an eye on multiple missable trophies like 'Grim Reaper' (harvest and read all implant bios). The gold trophy 'The Protocol is About Life' asks you to beat the game on 'Maximum Security' difficulty, something that is going to pose quite a formidable challenge for many. Lastly, the game has unreasonably repetitive and time-consuming DLC trophies to earn, which could be a turn-off for some trophy hunters after a 100% completion rather than just a platinum.
What do you make of The Callisto Protocol? Will you be checking out this trial? Think we should add the game to our best PS5 games list? Let us know all your thoughts and feelings in the comments below!
