PS Stars bug fix has arrived to stop all the Sackboy hate

PlayStation Stars has received a bug fix, letting players unlock a collectible for playing LittleBigPlanet 3 on PS4 or PS5.

PlayStation Stars campaigns have their fair share of bugs — some of us are still trying to claim our PS Stars silver PS3 collectible — but few have been as maddening as the recent bug affecting LittleBigPlanet 3. However, players are reporting that a PS Stars update has finally fixed the buggy Hit Play 1997 campaign.

PS Stars' Sony AM Radio TR-1818 collectible unlocks after bug fix

According to reports spotted by the ever-vigilant PSSCollectibles on Twitter, players have finally been able to unlock the Sony AM Radio TR-1818 collectible on PlayStation Stars thanks to a recent fix. To unlock the PS Stars AM Radio collectible, players had to first decipher six song-themed clues, then launch all six games on their PS5 or PS4; a task made easier thanks to each game's availability on PS Plus Extra's Game Catalog.

However, one game has been giving players a headache since the Hit Play 1997 campaign launched in May 2022: LittleBigPlanet 3. Part of the frustration comes from the campaign's vague hints — players were fairly certain that the solution to the "Around the World" hint was LittleBigPlanet 3, but they couldn't be certain. Then, when booting the game on PS5 or PS4 failed to unlock the Sony AM Radio collectible, a palpable resentment for LittleBigPlanet's mascot Sackboy and his little cotton face started to rise among collectors.

The AM Radio can finally be yours.

Thankfully, a number of reports suggest that the PS Stars campaign is now fixed and the AM Radio collectible is now unlockable. There are still a few reports suggesting the fix may not be universally available — if you're still having problems, you can contact PlayStation directly with the info in our PlayStation Stars guide. However, for the most part, it seems the Sackboy hate has begun to recede — for now, at least.
