Sony unleashes new PS5 firmware update with killer new lyrics

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,

Sony has once again brought a new PS5 firmware update, this time it's the belting classic firmware update 23.01-07.40.00.

It's been a while since Sony and PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan helped us relax with the PS5 firmware update for March 2023, but it's time once again to prepare your PS5 with a new firmware update called 23.01-07.40.00. The patch notes for this are a classic tune worthy of the best PS5 games' soundtracks.

PS5 hardware is more stable and useable after update

We love the lyrics on all PS5 patch notes. They just hit right, don't they? When you hear about how much more stable your PS5 is going to be this month, it's like you are listening to a PaRappa the Rapper jive to an absolute bop in the dojo again while nailing every damn lyric.

Look at that dog go, popping out fine wordplay like he's Shia LaBeouf dominating a 5 Fingers of Death freestyle. Well, forget those PaRappa the Rapper Remastered trophies because those are old news just like those stability issues — now we have more lyrics for you. Here are the patch notes for PS5's latest firmware update 23.01-07.40.00:
  • We've improved system software performance and stability.
  • We've improved the messages and usability on some screens.
Well, Sony has clearly got the funky flow down on this update and brought something new to the stability party. It's like UmJammer Lammy has entered the booth. Drop a fat beat:

Your messages are now going to be just so useable,
those friend requests unrefuseable.
That's right — you be pulling out new text on every screen,
that DM whipped out with grammar so clean.

Honestly, what a firmware update (available to download right now). Get on it, and make sure your PS5 messages screen is useable and stable. Then, should you be feeling so kind, rap about it in the comments below!
