Assassin's Creed Mirage release date alleged stealth delay reiterated

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,

Ubisoft has seemingly delayed the Assassin's Creed Mirage release date again for 2023, though no official gameplay or date has officially been given.

Update: The news of a delay to Assassin's Creed Mirage's release date has been reiterated as a push till October 2023. Dataminer and leaker J0nathan reiterated that October is Ubisoft's current estimate, though the French company isn't averse to pushing the latest entry back to November 2023.

One day we will get the date when we can collect those Assassin's Creed Mirage trophies! For now, though, it looks like Ubisoft has stealth delayed the game from August 2023 into another window for the year. Let's just play all the games again and rank the best Assassin's Creed games all over again, shall we?

Ubisoft seems to be struggling with AC Mirage

The next in a long line of upcoming Assassin's Creed games for PS5 is Mirage, but the latest news from insider Tom Henderson pushes back the game late in 2023 (salt handy, please). "It seems like AC Mirage has been internally delayed from August to October. Nexus, AC's VR offering, has also been delayed a couple of months." It is expected that the game will appear on a Ubisoft Forward livestream slated for June 12th, 2023 where we will get an official release date alongside gameplay.

Just in case you are unaware, we have never received official word from Ubisoft about the Assassin's Creed Mirage release date, but reliable insiders have reported internal delays nigh on constantly through the year. First, it was that Mirage slipped from early 2023 to August 2023, then follow-up release date rumors placed Mirage — a supposed return to stealth in Baghdad — into 2024.

We know it's early, but we are getting really excited about the promise of Assassin's Creed Mirage. The game will be moving away from the massive RPG trilogy of Assassin's Creed that included Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla — you can read what we thought of the latter in our Assassin's Creed Valhalla review. Instead, it will be going a touch smaller, focusing back on the cityscape and parkour, and hopefully bringing back the trademark stealth that helped us fall in love with the series.

What do you think of the supposed second delay? Will you be picking this one up? Let us know in the comments below and we will see you down there!
