Marvel’s Avengers is good now, so it’s the perfect time to platinum it By Sean Lawson, 04 Apr 2023 FollowtopicsMarvel's AvengersBandai Namco EntertainmentPlayStation PlusPlayStation 5PlayStation 4Sean Lawson If you have the desire to pick up (or revisit) Marvel's Avengers on PS5 and earn its platinum trophy, now is the perfect opportunity thanks to an abundance of free DLC.The Marvel's Avengers trophies have never been more fun to earn and we have the game's support coming to an end to thank for all the delightful freebies. With buffs, cosmetics items, a plethora of bug fixes, and so much more, now is the best time to try and earn Marvel's Avengers platinum trophy. Sadly, we don't think this is enough for the game to make it onto our best PS5 games list before it's delisted, but at least it's going out with a bang.Marvel's Avengers platinum is now a lot of fun to earn!Start earning Marvel's Avengers trophies now and grab the platinumWe aren't going to sit here and tell you that this surge of free content and bug fixes makes up for all of Avengers' deeper-rooted problems. However, it does a mighty fine job of helping you overlook it. If you played the game close to when it launched and then put it down, never to pick it up again (like myself), then you are in for surprise to see the full expanded roster of characters. You may even find a new favourite amongst them — shoutout to Black Panther, who is an absolute beast on the battlefield.Crystal Dynamics has also set a permanent 1.5x multiplier on Fragments earned and XP gained, making trophies like 'Muahahahahaha,' 'Back in Business,' and 'Time to Shine' way easier to earn then they were before. In fact, I personally jumped back into the game yesterday and earned 'Muahahahahaha' almost immediately after starting it up — so chances are you'll be able to do the same.Captain America is even providing thirst traps to lure you back into the game... and damn does it work!Trophies like 'Tentative Peace' (beat 15 Villain Sectors) and 'To the Dark and Back Again' (beat 100 Hive missions) are also easier to earn thanks to them being made readily available at all times, as opposed to having to wait for new ones to be added daily. That said, the ones that are permanently in place may get a little repetitive to replay as there is only a small pool to pick from. The remainder of the Marvel's Avengers trophies are pretty straightforward and will come from naturally playing the game. Just make a conscious effort to save 100 AIM prisoners for 'Savior of the People' and keep an eye out for Depots and Cache Strongboxes to earn 'Information Overload,' 'Treasure Trove,' and 'Breaking and Entering.' You'll need to be aware of a few difficulty trophies as well — thankfully these are made easier if you save them to the end as you'll be at a high level, have all your skills unlocked, and should be able to blitz through these trophies.Oh great, now Thor is making thirst traps...So, yeah, if you are feeling ever so tempted to dip your toes into Marvel's Avengers and see what changes have been made, check out the free DLC, and earn a platinum trophy: now is the time. All DLC should be granted to you with the latest patch update as it appears the in-game marketplace has been completely removed — I can't find the marketplace anywhere in the game after searching for a substantial amount of time.If you are subscribed to PS Plus at either the Extra or Premium tiers, you can also access Marvel's Avengers for free and all the free DLC as well. It appears the recent assumption that Marvel's Avengers is leaving PS Plus Extra was false as the game is still available past the date that was announced in the original article.
