Horizon Burning Shores land on PS5 on April 19th, 2023

With just over two weeks to go until the Horizon Burning Shores expansion release date for one of the best PS5 games, Horizon Forbidden West, we finally have new gameplay. It comes from developer Guerrilla Games on Twitter (embedded below) and mostly shows a lot of new flying on a new flying machine. "The Waterwing is a medium-sized flying machine that can dive deep underwater. It is highly manoeuvrable and, when disturbed, is an unrelenting foe," says Guerrilla.

In the video, you can see plenty of new movement for the flying machine as it dives underwater for a second before splashing back out. There is also some wonderful footage of some new cloud tech that Guerrilla has been working on that gives clouds actual, tangible mass in games. As we have come to expect from Horizon, it looks inordinately pretty. Staff Writer Lee will be happy as he has long requested that Horizon Forbidden West's Burning Shores' flying mechanics were improved.

Horizon Burning Shores releases on April 19th, 2023 for PS5-only. You'll need to have finished the base game — available on PS Plus Extra — in order to start playing. What do you think of the new footage? Looking forward to jumping back in? Let us know in the comments, and see you there!
