Forspoken's PS5 exclusive DLC now available for Digital Deluxe owners

By Sean Lawson,

The PS5 exclusive, Forspoken, is set to get a prequel DLC that will cover more story and grant Frey some new powers.

Update: If you own the Digital Deluxe edition of Forspoken you can now dive into the new DLC, In Tanta We Trust, three days earlier than everyone else. It's time to grab any outstanding Forspoken trophies and see what this new DLC has to offer.

Original Story: Many of you may have begrudgingly mopped up all of the Forspoken trophie; however, your journey isn't over as you can once again adventure in the fantasy lands of Athia in the upcoming Forspoken prequel DLC set to release on May 26th, 2023. While Forspoken and lead protagonist Frey may have been quite divisive in release, we quite enjoyed our time with the game, as seen in our Forspoken review.

ForspokenForspoken didn't meet the expectations that Square Enix had!

Forspoken's upcoming DLC, In Tanta We Trust, is a prequel

Since Forspoken's flop caused Luminous Productions to fold into Square Enix — just one month after Forspoken's launch, may we add — it's nice to see that Forspoken is getting some support still despite its lackluster reception. However, those of you who genuinely enjoyed Forspoken shouldn't get too hopeful for future DLC also releasing as the upcoming In Tanta We Trust DLC may very well be Forspoken's last.

The merger between Luminous Productions and Square Enix will close by May 1st, 2023. It will probably spell the end of any further development on Forspoken content; though, it would be great if this wasn't the case. We can't deny that we welcome more trophies coming our way, so any extra content that can provide this will garner our attention; however, there has been no indication that In Tanta We Trust will include trophies.

ForspokenForspoken is a divisive PS5 exclusive!

Despite its flaws, I enjoyed my time with Forspoken — I even earned the platinum — and I look forward to revisiting the game. The DLC sounds interesting to me, Frey has new powers to get to grips with and it looks like we have Cinta as a companion of sorts. What do you guys make of Forspoken? Think it deserves more love than it has received? Think it could even make it onto our best PS5 games list? Let us know in the comments down below!
