Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores release date is already almost upon us, despite how little we've seen of the PS5-exclusive expansion to one of 2022's biggest games. Players who have long since collected all of the Horizon Forbidden West trophies will be relieved to hear that Forbidden West's PS5-exclusive expansion, Burning Shores, will release in April 2023. That's a surprisingly short wait for the follow-up to one of the best PS5 games around — although we still haven't seen all that much of Burning Shores so far. Hopes are high for this DLC add-on, especially since its PS5-exclusive release addresses a criticism we had of Sony in our Horizon Forbidden West review — the PS4 is a burden on the PS5. That said, all we've seen of the expansion is Horizon Burning Shores' reveal trailer and that's pretty much everything, which is a little surprising given how close to launch we are. We've voiced our hopes for the expansion over the last few months — specifically, we want Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shore's Sunwing to actually be fun to fly, and we want Horizon Burning Shore's story to be closer in length and weight to Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales than the previous Horizon expansion, Frozen Wilds. These were questions we kind of expected to have a few answers to by this point in March — especially after Forbidden West hit PS Plus Extra in February. Hopefully, we'll get more info, and ideally a gameplay trailer, in the coming weeks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShJuY6Zl2Aw Let us know in the comments if you're looking forward to Burning Shores' PS5 release and whether you think this might effectively build on the Horizon series' gameplay formula in interesting ways below.
