Sony is entering into the AirPods arena with the new officially licenced Razer Hammerhead HyperSpeed earphones for PS5.

Below you will find information for the upcoming PlayStation AirPods — called the Razer Hammerhead HyperSpeed officially — including the release date, design, and most importantly the cost — which is about a third of the actual PS5 console itself. Recent months have been quite pricy for PS5 owners, thanks to the 40 PS VR2 launch games and the price of the PS VR2. Now, these AirPods are looking to take a bite out of your wallet if you'll let them.

The release date of the Razer Hammerhead HyperSpeed is March 27th, 2023 in the UK. Currently, the AirPods are available to preorder and the website says they will be shipped out on March 27th, 2023.

It looks as though the PlayStation AirPods can actually be purchased in the US with delivery available as early as March 15th, 2023. You may also go and pick up the PlayStation AirPods from any of the Razer Stores — however, you will need to check that your designated store actually has stock available before you do.

The PlayStation AirPods are compatible with "PS5, PS4, PC, Mac, smartphones, tablets, and handheld gaming devices with Bluetooth audio capability or USB-C / USB-A port." The headphones come primed and ready to try and nullify any unwanted background nose that may interrupt you in the heat of battle — or simply farming in Like a Dragon: Ishin. It does this using microphones that listen to your surroundings and attempt to reduce any needed noise.
