Elden Ring DLC is coming, but don’t raise your hopes for DLC trophies By Kes Eylers-Stephenson, 01 Mar 2023 FollowtopicsPlayStation 5PlayStation 4Kes Eylers-Stephenson Elden Ring DLC has been announced and is called Shadow of the Erdtree. However, based on FromSoftware's DLC record, don't expect any more Elden Ring trophiesIs everyone prepared for more Elden Ring trophies? We sure hope not, because FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have revealed that the PS5 and PS4 will be getting Elden Ring DLC, but the developer hasn't historically been keen on DLC trophies. Elden Ring DLC is coming and it's called Shadow of the ErdtreeDark Souls and Bloodborne left out DLC trophiesIt's one of the best PS5 games and sold like charms, so of course developer, FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco are cooking up some DLC for Elden Ring. In the announcement, the developer stated: "DLC 'Shadow of the Erdtree' for Elden Ring is under development. The follow-up report is still a little ahead, but I would appreciate it if you could look forward to it." No further details were given, but there is some speculation that it might be a prequel given the state of the Erdtree in the concept art that FromSoftware showed off. You can see a full version of that art below. However, there is one thing we do know about the upcoming DLC — you probably won't be getting any Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree trophies.Elden Ring DLC confirmed! From Software's Dark Souls had no DLC trophies for Artorias of the Abyss, Dark Souls II neglected them for The Lost Crowns DLC, and the final entry in the trilogy — Dark Souls III — had no trophy support for Ashes of Ariendel or The Ringed City. Sekiro Shadows Die Twice had no DLC. The exception to the rule here is The Old Hunters DLC which added a few Bloodborne trophies. So, given it appears that only Sony can force FromSoftware to add trophies, don't be surprised if the new Elden Ring DLC lacks trophies when it hits PS5 and PS4 and some point. What do you think of the DLC? Any theories?
