Octopath Traveler 2 trophies have arrived.

Octopath Traveler 2, the latest entry in the series from Square Enix and the first to arrive on PlayStation consoles, once again aims to recapture the vibe of classic PS1 JRPGs with its beautiful "HD-2D" style and wonderfully tricky eight overlapping narratives. Much like the classic Final Fantasy games — which will soon be recapturing those JRPG vibes on PS4 with the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster trophies — each Octopath Traveler is a completely different story, so PS5 and PS4 players don't need to play the original (which never came to PlayStation) to enjoy it.

The Octopath Traveler 2 trophies lean heavily on the game's story, mostly tasking you with completely all eight character tales and not missing any "Crossed Paths" where the narratives overlap. You'll also need to do some completionist work, mastering the game's jobs and skills, investing hard in the townspeople, and completing all the game's side quests. It's going to be a hefty game to platinum, but for JRPG fans, we'd have it no other way.
