PS Store will let you pay for new PS1 Classics outside of PS Plus

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,

With three new games coming to PS Plus Premium's Classic Catalogue, it looks like Sony is allowing players to independently buy PS1 games again.

With the new PS Plus Extra and Premium games for February 2023, it looks like Sony is allowing it's latest three PS1 games to be purchased individually on the PS Store with no need for a PS Plus subscription.

Games from the Classics Catalogue of PS1, PSP, and PS2 games have sporadically been available to purchase separately, but it's not been consistent. Now, with the arrival of The Legend of Dragoon trophies, Wild Arms 2 trophies, and Harvest Moon Back to Nature (trophy-less), we are sure many of you are more excited to jump into these titles than ever before. All the PS1 games available individually can be bought on the PS Store without a PS Plus Premium subscription and can be played on PS5 or PS4.

You should probably check out our trophy support page if you are curious about some of the details. These particular sets of new trophies for The Legend of Dragoon and Wild Arms 2 are a little more tricky than the usual PS1 fair, however; including many more trinkets for side activities and fun miscellaneous tasks. If you are interested in the finer details, Staff Writer Sean has you covered with PS Plus' PS1 classic trophies: how hard?

What's your opinion on the prices? Have any of these three caught your eye? We are sure many of you are much keener to play the games without the PS Plus subscription, so let us know if you'll be grabbing these games in the comments!
