Hogwarts Legacy trophy bug breaking PS5 platinum unlock gets patched

Hogwarts Legacy has a trophy bug on PS5 that has prevented players from obtaining the game's platinum trophy, but the patch is now live.

Update: The bug affecting Hogwarts Legacy trophies has finally been fixed after the previously delayed PS5 patch went live. Now PS5 players can finally start racking up those trophies and even platinum one of the best Harry Potter games ever.

Alongside a number of general fixes to improve the game's stability, the Hogwarts Legacy PS5 patch fixes the issues affecting the game's platinum trophy. The patch notes from Avalanche Studio suggest two issues have been addressed, one affecting players owning the Collector's Edition of Hogwarts Legacy, and the other affecting trophies from registering correctly with PlayStation.

While fans have been enjoying what is easily one of the best Harry Potter games ever, few have unlocked Hogwarts Legacy's platinum trophy yet due to the collectables bug.

Hogwarts Legacy developers working to fix PS5 trophy bug

Thanks to TT's own HelixNebula_x, who informed us about the bug in last week's discussion of the game's trophies. The Hogwarts Legacy bug is seemingly affecting the counter that keeps track of the player's collectables. This counter is tied to trophies like Collector's Edition, which players should be able to unlock after completing all of Hogwarts Legacy's collections.

This seems to also be affecting Hogwarts Legacy's character progression trophies too, as practically no one has unlocked A Forte for Achievement for getting their character to level 40 yet (the few that seemingly have got this trophy seem to be testers, developers, or a luck few hunters). It appeared for a while as though Hogwarts Legacy had an unobtainable PS5 platinum trophy, though some players have since managed to avoid the bug and obtain this.

Thankfully, Brian English broke the good news on Twitter (via PlayStation Lifestyle) that developer Avalanche Studios is apparently hard at work on a fix and that this should arrive on Valentine's Day, the 14th February 2023. Even better news: once the fix is live, players won't have to backtrack for collectables, so everything you have found so far will still count towards the trophy. Here's hoping this fix goes off without a hitch and players can quickly start picking up that Hogwarts Legacy platinum.
