New Skyrim DLC leak suggests even more Dragonborn action after 9 years

By Sean Lawson,

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim might be over 11 years old at this point, but that doesn't mean Bethesda has any plans to put this legendary game to bed just yet. A new leak suggests that more DLC is inbound.

While you might have snatched up all The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim trophies — three times over at this point — it seems Bethesda isn't ready to let this iconic meme die just yet. While we might all sit and roll our eyes at the fact Skyrim is still around over 11 years after its initial PS3 launch, we can't deny that this is a game the best PlayStation games ever. Well, it looks like this game isn't going anywhere as a leak suggests that Bethesda is working on a substantial update for Skyrim that may even include new DLC.

SkyrimSkyrim doesn't look to be winding down any time soon

Bethesda could be whipping up more Skyrim DLC for PlayStation

Spotted by ComicBook, an update over on SteamDB reveals that Bethesda has been working on something quietly behind the scenes — and of course it all points to a major update for Skyrim. It's worth noting that there is no mention of any PlayStation consoles, however; with how many times Skyrim has been released over the years it would be a shock if Bethesda created a substantial amount of content to not also release it to every platform that Skyrim resides on (see: literally everything).

While some of you will be able to breakdown the codes and head-twirling information over on SteamDB, the rest of us just need to know that it looks as though this update could bring a Marketplace to the game — and most likely the ability to purchase a plethora of mods to beautify our game, as well as some extra DLC. The last major piece of Bethesda-made DLC was Dragonborn in 2013. The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Anniversary Edition added some smaller pieces of content and mods for players to dive on into as well as fishing, something Bethesda could have done to test the waters and gauge fan reactions to the possible implementation we are seeing unfold now.

SkyrimSkyrim for PS7 anyone?

As it stands at current, this is all the information we have on the mysterious work Bethesda is putting into one of the best RPGs on PlayStation. Bethesda has yet to make any form of announcement in regard to the work going on, but as soon as anything is announced we will update this article accordingly. What do you make of all of this? Excited to be getting more Skyrim updates? Would you rather Bethesda put its efforts into the sequel? Sound off in the comments down below!
