Best PS5 indie of 2022 getting massive free content update for 2023 By Kes Eylers-Stephenson, 03 Jan 2023 FollowtopicsCult of the LambDevolver DigitalPlayStation 5PlayStation 4Kes Eylers-Stephenson Cult of the Lamb pulled an indie ritual sacrifice of some kind as it released to critical and commercial success on PS5 and PS4. Now, players are getting one free patch with bug fixes and a secondary free content update. With the Cult of the Lamb trophies wrapped up, we imagine most of you are looking for any excuse to sacrifice more time to one of the best PlayStation indies. Well, your prayers have been answered. Cult of the Lamb is getting a free content update in 2023 for PS5 and PS4, as well as some bug fixes.Cult of the Lamb free update is coming to PS5, and PS4 in the future!Cult of the Lamb is adding free content and fixing bugsThe most outstanding indie of 2022 is getting more content for PS5 and PS4 for free, the developer Little Monster has teased. In a string of tweets (the first of which is embedded below), the team stated: "We have another round of fixes scheduled for the New Year. It is focused on resolving many issues for console players. After that, we will be working on releasing the Major Content Update as soon as we can!"The major content update for Cult of the Lamb will release in 2023, with a focus on bringing new heavy attacks, adding depth to the dungeon runs, adding difficulty levels, increasing accessibility, and otherwise making quality-of-life improvements. After the new update is released, pressing and holding square to attack will unleash a unique heavy attack for each available weapon. The sword will have a smash ability, the dagger will have a ranged dagger fall ability, and the axe can be thrown like a boomerang (jealous Kratos?). More is yet to be confirmed, but the developers have teased boss variations of Barbatos. Though there were many more fantastic indie games released on PlayStation last year, like Sifu and Rollerdrome, there is something about Cult of the Lamb that really hooked everyone in. Part roguelike and part village-sim in which you play as a cult-leader lamb, the gameplay loop is nigh on perfection and the aesthetics and music are fabulously realised. Add in the ability to feed fluffy animals a bowl of poop for a laugh and there isn't quite anything like it. Anyway, let us know what you think of the news!
