Rumoured Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 remake might have surprise developer By Sean Lawson, 03 Jan 2023 FollowtopicsHorizon Zero DawnSony Interactive EntertainmentPlayStation 4PlayStation 5Sean Lawson The rumoured Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 remake now has another report circulating it. Apparently, Guerrilla Games' involvement in remaking or remastering one of PS4's biggest hits is looking uncertain.Anyone who enjoyed snatching up the Horizon Zero Dawn trophies on PS4 may soon have a second chance to earn them all over again on PS5 if these Horizon Zero Dawn Remake rumours turn out true. While the controversial rumoured Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 remake seems like an inevitability, a reliable report suggests that Guerrilla Games might not be making it.Unannounced Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 remake is rumoured to have an entirely different developer than Guerrilla GamesSony's PS5 remake trend continues as PlayStation Studio remains hands offFirst reported by eXputer, Colin Moriarty — a well-known PlayStation journalist-turned-pundit and host of the Sacred Symbols podcast — revealed that the rumoured Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 remake may be under development from a studio that isn't Guerrilla Games. One of the best PS4 games out there, Moriarty stated that he heard the rumour from a reliable source. Take salt with you despite his reliability on these matters. “We’re also assuming that [Guerrilla] is making the Horizon remake thing there, although, if that’s real, what I’ve heard is that it’s at another team.” The only other suggestion of the developer is that it might be another PlayStation Studios team. While the mind immediately jumps to remake kings Bluepoint, we wonder if this might actually be in the hands of a new PlayStation Studios Visual Arts team that is allegedly making a Uncharted reboot. Would you like to take a trip back to this breathtaking world?Moriarty made it apparent that he didn't want to divulge too much information on the matter in case this upset his source who provided him with all of this information. All we can do now is wait and see what information crops up in the coming months — maybe Moriarty will provide more behind-the-scenes sneak peeks? While we have no proof of any of this actually being real, the sources are about as reliable as they come in the rumour space. Guerrilla Games might be popping in to help here and there on the remake project, but it probably has its hands full with the Horizon Forbbiden West PS5-exclusive DLC as well as co-developing Horizon Call of the Mountain, one of the PS VR2 launch games. The Dutch Studio is also working on a co-op Horizon game. What do you make of these Horizon shenanigans? Excited at the prospect of a remake of this classic title?
