There will be a new game on top of DS2 — potentially Project Overdose — a Death Stranding movie, and this Microsoft project. Death Stranding 2 is now a known factor of Kojima Production's upcoming slate of games. However, Hideo Kojima's team has announced a Death Stranding movie and a new game that seems likely to be the leaked horror experience called Overdose. It looks like some of the best PS5 game contenders will have a lot to contend with!Hideo Kojima thinks on all his projects thoroughlyDS2 is just the beginning of Kojima's PS5 ambitionsDeadline reports that developer Kojima Productions currently has a Death Stranding movie in development. “I couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership with Hammerstone Studios,” Kojima said about the announcement. “This is a pivotal moment for the franchise and I’m really looking forward to collaborating with them in bringing Death Stranding to the big screen.” Barbarian's executive producer Alex Lebovici also gave a comment: “Unlike other big-budget tentpole video game adaptations, this will be something far more intimate and grounded. Our goal is to redefine what a video game adaptation could be when you have creative and artistic freedom. This film will be an authentic 'Hideo Kojima' production.”It is interesting that the film isn't being made by PlayStation Productions, perhaps suggesting Sony wasn't keen on lending a hand or that its budget has been wrapped up in other projects like the God of War, Twisted Metal, and Horizon TV shows. Apparently, Death Stranding's movie has been fast-tracked for development the plot won't be a 1-to-1 adaption of the film, but something that will "introduce new elements and characters."As part of Kojima Productions' 7th anniversary, Hideo Kojima stepped in front of the camera to announce a "completely new game." More information will be announced about this next year.
