The Game Awards 2022: all PS5, PS4 game announcements

The Game Awards 2022 has plenty of announcements for games, DLC, PC ports, and more. Here is a roundup of all the new content coming to PlayStation for the next few years on the PS5 and PS4.

The Game Awards 2022 has thrilled with arguably its best-ever showing of new game trailers, DLC reveals and more. Here is everything coming to your PS5 and PS4 that was shown at the Game Awards.

Dead Cells Return to Castlevania DLC — PS5, PS4

Indie darling and breathtaking platformer, Dead Cells, had some DLC announced that looks to merge our hero with the Castlevania series — kind of. This animated trailer certainly has us hyped to see how it all comes together.

Returnal — PC

After many leaks and hints towards Returnal cropping up on PC, we finally have an actual announcement that reveals this PlayStation Studios title is coming to PC — something that none of us will be surprised by, hopefully, this performs better than the recently added Sackboy game.

Hellboy Web of Wyrd — PS5, PS4

A surprise announcement that most people didn't see coming was that of a new Hellboy game called Hellboy Web of Wyrd. The trailer was visually impressive having a comic-book-esque art style that was very striking and drew the eye in. This is one to watch out for.

Horizon Call of the Mountain — PS5, PS4

Horizon Call of the Mountain received a new trailer at The Game Awards, showing off more impressive footage of this PS VR2 exclusive game. We can't wait to see what the game brings when the PS VR2 launches, thankfully Horizon is one of the 19 games that will be available at launch.

Post Trauma — no platforms given

Post Trauma is a game that looks to capture that earlier era of horror through a Silent Hill-esque vibe and those fixed camera angles from early Resident Evil games — something you either love or hate. No specific consoles were mentioned in the trailer, but we would be surprised if PlayStation didn't see this horror outing land on at least one of its consoles.

Viewfinder — PS5

Viewfinder is an interesting-looking game, one that Editor Kes delved into in a bit more detail in his Viewfinder and Mario 64 comparison. Another little surprise about Viewfinder is that it will be a PS5-exclusive title. Very nice.

Among Us Hide N Seek DLC — PS5, PS4

Anyone who has been a successful imposter and avoided being too suss, may have already snatched up all of the Among Us trophies and be left with very little to do. Thankfully developers Innersloth have announced a new game mode that will be coming to Among Us, bringing more mayhem, murder, and betrayal.

After Us — PS5

After Us is a visually striking game, with an air of The Child of Light sprinkled within it — which is certainly high praise. The game will release in Spring 2023 and we are excited to learn more about this game and its world.

Street Fighter 6 — PS5, PS4

Street Fighter 6's release date was announced last night and it looks as though the PS Store release leak ended up being correct. Street Fighter 6 will launch on June 2nd, 2023 and the newest trailer showed off characters Dee Jay, Manon, Marisa, and J.

Hades II — PS5, PS4

Hades II was a real shocker for many, but a welcome shock nonetheless. The first game was one of the best indie games out there and the sequel looks to follow Zagreus' sister Melinoë. The game will come to PlayStation consoles after it does a stint on PC first.

Judas — PS5

Judas comes from Ken Levine, the chief developer of BioShock — and you can tell. While the game isn't a new sequel in the BioShock universe, it certainly has the air and vibe of that demented world. Whatever Judas brings to the table when it releases will surely have us gasping at how crazy and over-the-top everything is and we can't wait to see more.

Ghostbusters Rise of the Ghost Lord — PS VR2

The PS VR2 is set to get Ghostbusters Rise of the Ghost Lord on its system sometime in 2023. Further adding to the list of games you eventually be able to play if you have managed to snatch a preorder for the PS VR2.

Destiny 2 — PS5, PS4

Destiny 2 expansion Lightfall was showcased at the event, you can expect to dive on into this on February 28th, 2023.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League's Batman reveal — PS5

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League had an update for us, revealing everyone's favourite caped crusader in a far more evil light. The game will launch on May 26th, 2023 for PS5.

The Last of Us Part I — PC

The Last of Us Part 1 for PC finally has a release date, you can dive into this bleak world on March 3rd, 2023. Check out Lee's The Last of Us Part 1 review!

Star Wars Jedi Survivor release date — PS5

Star Wars Jedi Survivor got an unbelievable new trailer that came packing a release date of March 17th, 2023. Hyped? We are! It looks stunning, too.

Earthblade — consoles unknown

Indie Earthblade has a trailer and, though it doesn't have a platform just a 2024 release window, developer Maddy Make's games eventually brought the superb duo of Celeste and Towerfall Ascension to PlayStation. Keep an eye on this — it will be excellent.

Dune Awakening pre-alpha trailer — PS5

Dune Awakening received a pre-alpha trailer at The Game Awards, showing off more of this lush MMO world we will one day be able to dive on into. Hopefully, it comes with a trophy list simpler than that of the Elder Scrolls Online trophies.

Forspoken demo announcement — PS5

The Forspoken demo announcement cropped up — unsurprisingly — after it was leaked earlier by PlayStation Japan. You can now dive on into this magical world and get a taste of everything Forspoken has to offer.

Death Stranding 2Death Stranding 2 announced

Death Stranding 2 — PS5

Death Stranding 2 made an appearance to Editor Kes’ dismay after he only just nabbed all of those Death Stranding Directors Cut trophies — now we have even more to look forward to in the future. The announcement looks to incorporate the weird and whacky antics of the first game and we can’t wait to see what Kojima cooks up this time around.

Immortals of Aveum — PS5

Immortals of Aveum is an EA original and will be coming to PS5 consoles sometime in 2023. The game is a single-player experience where you utilise magic is a shooter kind of style — an interesting concept, one that EA can, hopefully; pull off.

Tekken 8Jun Kazama makes a graceful return to Tekken 8

Tekken 8 — PS5

Tekken 8 absolutely stole the show for many fighting game enthusiasts out there. With its breathtaking visuals, hefty combat, and character reveals, we have a lot to look forward to when this game finally comes to the PS5. Even more exciting was the surprise return of fan-favourite character, Jun Kazama.

Wayfinder — PS5, PS4

Wayfinder is an online action RPG that looks to share a few similarities with the Darksiders series — which makes sense as it’s the same devs. You’ll be able to pick from a selection of colourful characters who all have their own unique skills and abilities for you to make use of.

Diablo IV — PS5, PS4

Diablo IV got a nice little release date trailer at The Game Awards, with the game coming to both PS4 and PS5 on June 6th 2023. The game was a part of the leak fiasco we had a few months back when we got to see some glimpses of gameplay and in-game menus.

Horizon DLCHorizon DLC will be a PS5 exclusive.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC — PS5

Horizon Forbidden West will see a PS5 exclusive expansion coming its way on April 19th, 2023 — sorry PS4 players.

Blue Protocol — PS5

Bandai Namco’s sprawling multiplayer action RPG, Blue Protocol, makes its way to the west next year and looks to be a vivid and wild time that anime lovers will be able to fall in love with.

Remnant II — PS5

Remnant II is the sequel to Remnant From the Ashes and is a game you can play either solo or with a friend as you face down the many monstrosities that this game world.

Transformers Reactivate — no platforms given

Transformers Reactivate was announced with no platforms with a CGI trailer. While we don’t see much within this CGI trailer, and these styles of trailers don't usually give much away about the gameplay, the darker tone was really promising and an interesting direction for the Transformers series to go in. We will keep an eye out on this one for you. TT crew… roll out.

Banishers Ghosts of New Eden — PS5

A weird one, Banishers Ghosts of New Eden! We wrote up the announcement in a separate article, but the crux of it is that it is coming in late 2023 on PS5. It looks really good and a proper step up from Don’t Nod’s previous Life is Strange work. Loved this one.

Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 — PS5

Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 is coming to PS5 in 2023. There are some snippets of glorious-looking and sounding third-person action. This one has snuck up on us, but holy moly does it look good.

Meet Your Maker — PS5, PS4

Meet Your Maker is from the Dead By Daylight developers. Meet Your Maker was announced with a reveal trailer and given an April 4th, 2023 release date for PS5 and PS4. It is billed as a “new first-person building-and-raiding game set in a dark post-apocalyptic future.”

Crash Team RumbleCrash Team Rumble coming to PS5 and PS4 in 2023.

Crash Team Rumble — PS5, PS4

Crash Team Rumble was announced at the Game Awards. It’s real! The game is a team vs team brawler coming in 2023 to both PS5 and PS4. However, we are left a bit uncertain by what the mechanics are, but you can be certain that a few TT sessions shall be ran on this game.

The Lords of the Fallen — PS5

The Lords of the Fallen has a new CGI trailer, revealing nothing more than the fact it is still aiming for release on PS5. Thanks. It’s still a third-person action Soulsborne-style game with big bosses and many highly rate the first entry.

Crime Boss Rockay City — PS5

Did anyone expect this to come out of the woodwork? Crime Boss Rockay City looks like a crime thriller for the ages with Michael Madsen, Chuck Norris, and many, many more starring. Indeed, it will be a first-person shooter from 505 Games and will Crime Boss release on March 28th 2023 on PS5. We will forgive them for one of the worst game names ever.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC trailer — PS5

Cyberpunk 2077 is rightfully moving to the PS5 only with its massive-sounding new paid expansion. The new Phantom Liberty trailer features Idris Elba playing a new character and we know that this new batch of content will take us to a new area. Exciting!

Armoured Core 6 Fires of Rubicon — PS5, PS4

Lee covered FromSoftware’s announcement of Armoured Core 6 Fires of Rubicon as it was revealed, with plenty of noise around Elden Ring to help get people hyped for anything from this talented team. 2023 is the target year for release on PS5 and PS4.

Final Fantasy XVI release dateFinal Fantasy XVI release date confirmed.

Final Fantasy XVI release date — PS5

Final Fantasy XVI finally has a release date release date as well as another absolutely glorious trailer. It’s full of the most naughty-looking moves and big castles. Things are really ramping up for this release and we couldn’t be more excited!

Behemoth — PS VR2

Behemoth is one of those games that can make you interested in the PS VR2, even if you were adamant that you would never purchase the expensive piece of kit. No release date was revealed with the intriguing trailer, but trust us when we say we are pumped to see what becomes of this title.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II - Raid Episode 01 — PS5, PS4

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II also got a nice little reveal during The Game Awards, showcasing a new game mode coming to PS5 and PS4 consoles on December 14th, 2022.
