Rumours surrounding the game seem to indicate this will be a "full" expansion to Modern Warfare 2, complete with a continuation of the popular PlayStation game's story. The story of this guy remains untold, apparently.Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 expansion inches closer to 2023 confirmationThe Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 report was covered by numerous sources, including Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, who was also first to break word on Treyarch's 2023 Call of Duty title being delayed. In his tweet, Schreier emphasises that next year's 2023 release will be a "Modern Warfare II 'premium' (paid) expansion by Sledgehammer," and that despite Activision Blizzard calling it a "full premium release" in its report, supposedly because it will have "lots of content," Schreier claims that ultimately "it's more MWII."Responding to another question on Twitter regarding whether this Modern Warfare 2 expansion would follow up on that game's story, Schreier stated rather definitively: "Yes." After pawing over leaks of Modern Warfare 2's campaign length, many fans have come away quite satisfied with the story's singleplayer mode, so this rumoured continuation will come as good news for fans who have doubled down on collecting all those Modern Warfare 2 trophies. Will Price return? Let us know if you think this game is a shoo-in for the best FPS games list in the comments below and join us in wondering whether Sony's banking on God of War Ragnarok for PS5 sales might have overlooked Modern Warfare 2's success just a little bit.More Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II stories: Most popular PS5 games — Marvel's Spider-Man 2 increases lead by 23% Tomb Raider lures wary fans to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 release date revealed in very red teaser CoD Modern Warfare 3 leak proves Captain Price is the real monster Call of Duty is still coming to PS5 with a new game in 2023 Rumour Written by Lee BradyStaff Writer Lee keeps one eye on the future (Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth), one eye on the past (PS Plus Premium, recent Sony news), and his secret third eye on the junk he really likes (Sonic Superstars, Final Fantasy 16).
