PS Plus Extra, Premium game expiry dates return with GTA By Kes Eylers-Stephenson, 24 Oct 2022 FollowtopicsPlayStation PlusKes Eylers-Stephenson PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers launched with many pros and cons to Sony's subscription service. One major issue has been the continued horror of the PS Store UI, which has been highlighted once again by missing leave dates. Update: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition appears to have an expiry date for February 21, 2023 and Rez Infinite (PS4) is no longer a part of the Leaving Soon section of the PS Store. This suggests that either Sony is taking notes and has resolved the issue or that this will only be the case for certain big games with limited deals. Let us know your thoughts in the comments!Original Story: PlayStation Plus leave dates on Essential was easy and predictable, but Sony is making the ability to check Extra and Premium leave dates almost impossible. A new PS Store change has made a poor PS Plus UI even worse as 'Leaving Soon' games now have no date of expiry altogether.PS Store Leave DatesSony's PS Store UI remains messy and unclearAs first spotted by PushSquare, the PS Plus 'Leaving Soon' tab used to show you exactly when games would be leaving either Extra or Premium. However, as visible in the screenshots below, this is no longer the case for some inexplicable reason. Rez Infinite (PS4) will be leaving and appears in the tab, but there is no expiry date or time to be found anywhere. Previously, games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and WRC 10 have given specific dates and times so you can plan out your PS Plus months and years in advance. There is no other place to look and we have gone so far as to look into the databases to no avail, the dates aren't logged anywhere. While PS Plus Essential monthly games are on a cycle of one month making it easy to predict, the Extra and Premium games are nigh on impossible to work out. The UI was messy anyway in the PS5's PS Store — just like the PlayStation Plus PC problems in the app — but add uselessness into the fray and it just becomes confusingly bad.In some cases, Sony knows the date as revealed by PlayStation Blog and Grand Theft Auto Vice City Definitive Edition (via PS Play). The game, as noted in the article, will be leaving on February 20th, 2023. It isn't information available on the PSN anywhere — even in the backend (as per our previous check) — so how players are supposed to know when they should finish a game by is beyond us. The PS Store has issues with paid platinum games obliterating store visibility for better games, too. So, Sony should probably start thinking about the presentation a little more across all of its tabs.
