New PS5 firmware update has hidden trophy list change

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,

The PS5 received a new firmware update from Sony that made a few additions like 1440p support, 3D audio settings, and more. However, one change to trophy lists is going slightly under the radar for some players.

The new PS5 update from Sony contains some pretty cool new features like 1440p support and some really rubbish ones like the useless Game Lists. However, one tweak to hidden trophies in lists will help guide you to more platinums in the future.

PlayStation trophies get a slight change that should help trophy hunters

Thanks to YouTuber Mystic (video linked below), we now know of a new change buried away in the PS5's trophy lists in addition to all that other stuff. By hitting Options in the main trophy menu on the PS5 hub page, you can access a new toggle. This toggle allows you to reveal all trophies in any given list, including the hidden ones.

This will make sure that all the lists you click on are immediately accessible to all players even if they contain story spoilers, so be careful while you are using it! Developers usually make a trophy hidden for the story or something miscellaneous you'll need to discover yourself. Just take a look at how the Tunic developer feels about using trophies as secrets.

Well now, that brings us to the end of the article! PlayStation has been steadily updating trophies for PS5, with us now used to actual vertical lists (what were Sony thinking with the horizontal?), trophy cards, and trophy tracking. Has this made any difference to you? Let us know in the comments!
