The developer once had a three-game deal with PlayStation that brought forth three exclusive games: Flow, Flower, and the aforementioned Journey. Now, after releasing on mobile in 2019 and Nintendo Switch in 2021, its latest game Sky is coming to both PS5 and PS4. While there is no release date as of yet, the team noted in its announcement post that the port is being actively worked on.

Sky Children of Light is an adventure game much like Journey, in fact, where you will flit in and out of multiplayer spaces seamlessly. This quiet social integration populates your world with players to fly through the skies and help you explore the abandoned realm you find yourself in. To help things stay busy, the devs will implement cross-play across Android, iOS, Switch, and PlayStation. Reports are that this is a very pretty game with plenty of relaxed exploration to offer, though it might be a little light gameplay depth.

PlayStation Studios might have had thatgamecompany in its ranks if Sony had been a little bolder after the release of Journey way back when. The team was formed from young development talent and given good funds from Sony and it was generally expected to remain the first-party team after the three-game deal was complete. Instead, despite working under Santa Monica Studio for years, the team was asked to clear out.

Sony hasn't repeated the mistake and has made Team Asobi using the same 'young talent' format. Meanwhile, Sky is the first game from thatgamecompany since the initial contract. Are you excited to play Sky? Is Journey one of your favourites too? Let us know in the comments below!
