Saints Row dev joins Beyond Good and Evil 2

By Sean Lawson,

Beyond Good and Evil 2 has just hired its lead writer, 5 years after being originally announced. The new writer has worked on games such as Saints Row (2022), World of Warcraft, and Vainglory.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is not dead thanks to the newly hired lead writer confirming so online. We have had the bare minimum of updates when it comes to Beyond Good and Evil 2. Just a rouge trailer here or there. Hopefully, this new update is a sign of things to come, one day we may see this Ubisoft Montpellier title make it onto consoles.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 isn't dead confirms new lead writer

Sarah Arellano, the new lead writer for Beyond Good and Evil 2, took to Twitter to make the announcement of her involvement in the project. Posting a short video to her social media account, we watched as Arellano updated her bio to include herself as the: "Lead Writer: Beyond Good and Evil 2." On top of this, we can see that Arellano has quite an impressive CV, with her working on projects like Saints Row (2022), World of Warcraft, and Vainglory. Alongside the game titles, we spotted that Arellano has worked as both a narrative director and a VO director on different projects as well. On the evidence of her CV, it seems Arellano could create a great narrative for Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Knowing that this project may one day grace our PS4, PS5 consoles is a wonderful thing; even if we don't fully know which systems Beyond Good and Evil 2 will launch on. Beyond Good and Evil 2 was originally announced all the way back in 2008, but then slowly faded out of existence. Eventually, the game did resurface in 2017, only to fade out once more — wait a moment — for it to now resurface once again. Hopefully, this time round is different and we will see some actual progression being made.

Beyond Good and Evil 2Beyond Good and Evil 2 is alive!

While we won't be holding our breaths on this title, we are quietly optimistic about Arellano's involvement in the project. For now, all we can do is sit and wait, maybe play Beyond Good and Evil HD and try and earn all of those Beyond Good and Evil HD trophies, even if there isn't a sweet little platinum trophy to earn at the end. How do you guys feel about this one? Happy to hear some news on the project at long last? Sound off in the comments below!
