God of War Ragnarok, the upcoming PS4 and PS5 exclusive from Santa Monica Studio, finally has a release date after Sony seemingly delayed the announcement. The action-adventure game is releasing in November 2022.

Santa Monica Studio has been bombarded with speculation regarding the hotly anticipated God of War Ragnarok, leading to some quite unsavoury scenes. However, it now appears that Sony has finally allowed the PlayStation Studios to announce a date alongside a new CG trailer.

PlayStation finally reveals God of War Ragnarok release date with new trailer

Announced over on PlayStation Blog, God of War Ragnarok will now launch on November 9th, 2022. This places it just after The Last of Us Part 1 from Naughty Dog, which is currently scheduled for September 2nd. This would seemingly confirm pre-announcement release date reports that Ragnarok was shadow-delayed by Sony and the remaster of one of the best PS3 games took its September slot to fill out the calendar.

Sony tends not to release games in the winter period either, so this makes for an interesting change of strategy for the company. November is only a few months away, however; with Sony absent from Gamescom and limiting appearances at Tokyo Game Show, one does wonder if a State of Play is in the works for Ragnarok. Time will tell!
