By Sean Lawson,

An ex-developer from Eidos Montreal has just been hired by BioWare as its new narrative director. The speculation has turned out to be correct, DeMarle is indeed working on the next Mass Effect game.

Michael Gamble, the project director of the next Mass Effect instalment, has confirmed that Mary DeMarle is also working on the title as a senior narrative director.

Guardians of the Galaxy and Deus Ex narrative director joins Mass Effect development

When Mary DeMarle moved to BioWare from Eidos Montreal, there was speculation she was working on Mass Effect. Thanks to Gamble, we now know that DeMarle is 100% working on the next Mass Effect game. Considering DeMarle's CV, we Mass Effect fans should be in for a treat when the game finally launches.

With DeMarle working on smash hits like Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and Deus Ex, she should be able to bring a lot of great and unique ideas to the Mass Effect universe. I can't wait to see what she does! Are you guys excited about this? Looking forward to the next Mass Effect? Sound off in the comments below!

Former developer at Eidos Montreal, Mary DeMarle, has joined the BioWare team as a senior narrative director. DeMarle will be bringing her expertise to help craft the narratives of BioWare's games, which might even include projects that are currently in the works.

This information was reported by Twisted Voxel, who spotted that DeMarle updated her LinkedIn page with the new role at Electronic Arts/BioWare. DeMarle has worked on a number of iconic video games, such as Deus Ex Mankind Divided and Deus Ex Human Revolution, and the mega-successful Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.

As one would expect, speculation as to what DeMarle could be working on over at BioWare has hit a fever pitch. Dragon Age Dreadwolf is an unlikely scenario as the game is meant to be quite far along in its development cycle. The other option is, of course, the next Mass Effect game. We know BioWare is already busy conjuring up a new Mass Effect for all us starved fans, so it wouldn't too much of a stretch. Plus, given DeMarle's knowledge and background, she would be a fantastic addition to help craft and fine tune Mass Effect and its narrative. Obviously, this is all speculation, but until we hear otherwise, we're allowed to dream, right?

How do you guys feel about this? Excited about the next Mass Effect game? I know I am! Sound off in the comments below!
