PlayStation Gameplay Chart: Fall Guys outshines PlayStation Plus games

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,

FIFA 22 has been conquered by a mighty team of Fall Guys in the most-played PlayStation games, as Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption, Spider-Man, Returnal, and more find their way into the top 40 thanks to PlayStation Plus.

The Fall Guys trophies might be a tough ride, but that isn't putting of gamers this month as it takes the crown ahead of any of the PlayStation Plus Extra games. Here is the top 40 PlayStation Gameplay Chart for the week ending June 26th, 2022.

Batting around the bush seems a bit silly when we know Fall Guys has absolutely kicked FIFA 22's football into the stratosphere this week. An 18-game rise is thanks to the PS5 release concurrent with its transformation into a free-to-play live-service game — a smart move even if unpopular. Those little abominiations have gained 431% total players since last week (you are reading that right), beating out FIFA 22's count by 13%. Both had the advantage of going free-to-play, so now Fall Guys just need to find a way to keep a long tail.

Outside of these two, the top ten haven't seen exceptional movement outside of both Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West swapping positions just on the precipice. However, the biggest movers are actually a huge quantity of the PlayStation Plus Extra games. Pushing up the list, in order, are: Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (15th), Assassin's Creed Valhalla (20th), Returnal (21st), Red Dead Redemption 2 (24th), Marvel's Spider-Man (29th), Death Stranding (32nd) and Demon's Souls (38th). What this tells us is that Plus is already helping lift PlayStation games from the post-40 pit and into relevancy by changing thier Top 40 output into new entries or into returning titles. It hasn't done much for poor Ghost of Tsushima; though, this could be to do with the separate Director's Cut SKU.
