A Plague Tale Requiem PS5 release date and gameplay trailer just dropped

By Sean Lawson,

In a livestream hosted on YouTube, we finally received a release date for A Plague Tale Requiem. Alongside the announcement, we also got an extended gameplay trailer that showed even more of this bleak, yet beautiful, PS5 game.

Focus Entertainment have just dropped the release date for A Plague Tale: Requiem and along with it an extended gameplay trailer (which can be viewed down below) that shows off more horrific imagery of rats consuming the world, which is lovely. Horrible though it seems, it was great to get another look at this stunning upcoming release.

A Plague Tale Requiem PS5 release date confirmed

A Plague Tale RequiemThe developers gave us a look into A Plague Tale Requiem's world

A Plague Tale Requiem will be released on October 18th, 2022 for the PlayStation 5. So mark those calendars folks, as that release date will be here before you know it.

While viewers waited for the livestream to start, Focus Entertainment gave out Steam keys to a lucky few watchers as a thank you for their continued support. Although as of right now we are unsure of what those keys are, we assume that they grant access to the first game — or give bonuses for the sequel.
In the extended gameplay trailer, we saw a glimpse of the siblings as they try to start a new life following the events of the first game. The trailer also unveiled a new game mechanic where Amica can use Hugo to locate enemies from behind walls, giving players the ability to sneak around while avoiding detection. We also saw Amica sporting a new crossbow, which makes for nice change-up from the previous game's slingshot.

Who knows, maybe the game will join the new PS Plus subscription service and the giant PS Plus list of games when it releases. This would be a lovely surprise from Sony; certainly a far superior surprise than Sony removing PS Plus retail cards from online retailers.

I don't know about you, but I can't wait to dive back into this depressingly sinister game world. I fell in love with A Plague Tale Innocence, so I am well and truly hyped for the sequel. How do you guys feel about the game? Happy we finally have a release date? Sound off in the comments below!
