PlayStation Gameplay Chart: Resident Evil triple scare doesn't find top 10

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,

FIFA 22, Fortnite, Call of Duty, Elden Ring, GTA V, and Apex might still be the most played PlayStation games this week, but Resident Evil is still making moves. Meanwhile, PS Plus games are slipping.

Thanks to the re-release of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 on PS5 with a free update, all three have made it onto the chart. Here is the top 40 PlayStation Gameplay Chart for the week ending June 19th, 2022.

So, yes, nothing has really changed between FIFA 22, Fortnite, and Elden Ring at the top, with only Call of Duty shuffling more than one space up the chart. But don't fear! The failure of the Nickolodeon All-Star Brawl trophies to keep everyone hooked on the PlayStation Plus brawler has pushed everything up a bit. The game lost 50% of players from its third-place finish last week, but — in fairness — that was going to be hard to sustain. Instead, we will see where it ends up next week.

Then: so much Resident Evil. We have the new PS5 version of the Resident Evil 2 trophies (and accompanying game) settling at a very impressive 13th. Then we have the last Resident Evil 3 bringing home 23rd place. While it would have been relegated from the football league, in this instance it is a solid finish. Surprisingly, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard brings up the rear in 32nd, marginally being beaten out by Returnal. With all of these games hitting big for a second time, we are curious how many will stay around next week.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake has boosted into the chart, though not far up it in 39th. However, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has also managed to hit a good old 37th with its comrade Marvel's Spider-Man rocking well above at 24th. We love the debut of Shredder's Revenge on 27th, though. It has some delicious trophies, too!

What do you think of the list this week? Let us know in the comments, and see you there!
